Values

STBA, as a church ministry, encourages its members to subscribe to the golden rule in the conduct of business by treating others as they would want to be treated. The organization promotes ethical business practices and the delivery of quality services and products. We honor God by being Christ-like in our operations.   STBA members subscribe to the fundamental philosophy that profitable Shaw Temple business owners will contribute more to the church which will result in the church being better able to carry out its Christian mission.

Organization and Operating Procedures

STBA is headed by co-chairpersons, Mr. Arthur Brown and Ms. Carla Lavender, who were appointed by the Pastor. Other officers will be elected by active participants in the Ministry. The co-chairs have appointed a temporary Steering Committee to assist in planning and development during STBA’s formation and first year of operation.  Business meetings will be held a minimum of four times per year. In addition, the co-chairs will communicate with the members via church bulletin announcements, e-mail blasts, and the church newsletter. STBA will host activities and implement programs throughout the year to accomplish the annual goals of the Ministry. The co-chairs will appoint project managers or committees, as necessary, to achieve specific goals. More definitive operating procedures will be put in place after the STBA has operated for a year.
