Mission
The Shaw Temple Christian Educators form a body of dedicated, faithful and committed Christians doing the will of God through education ministry. We endeavor to extend to all persons the mission of Jesus Christ through a wholistic approach. We promote God’s Word, the importance of Christian nurture and the doctrines of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. It is our goal to develop discipleship, personal growth, and spiritual growth through training, education resource sharing,
stewardship, witnessing, outreach and fellowship.
The age-appropriated educational ministries are:
Adults(41+) Young Adults (22-40)
Youth (13-21) Children (3-12)
Nursery (Infant-3)
The Children’s Church and Youth Church convene each Sunday from 10:30AM to 11:45 AM when
they return to sanctuary for family worship.

Adult Christian Education
The mission of the Ministry is to equip the adult members of the church to achieve spiritual maturity by providing Christian education opportunities so that they may apply their spiritual gifts for building the Body of Christ. Educational provisions will consider the three major groups of adults: older, middle and young adults.
Youth Ministry
The Mission of the Shaw Temple Youth Department is to assist the youth in the development of a personal life-long relationship with Christ and to lead them toward a life of faith and trust and commitment to living a life that is Christ-centered, spirit-filled in love, people-oriented and service-centered.
Objectives
The Objectives of the Shaw Temple Youth Department are to
*Lead the youth to accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior
*Help the youth develop a trust and faith in God through Jesus Christ
*Help the youth develop an understanding of basic biblical principles
*Help the youth develop life skills
*Help the youth develop a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
*Help the youth develop a reliance on the Spirit in their personal lives and decisions
*Help the Youth develop the soft skills necessary for successful transition from all levels in school
to the next level
Overall Christian Education Objectives
The objectives of overall Christian Education are to enhance the implementation of the mandate of Jesus: “Go ye therefore and teach all nations…”.
*To provide periodic educational forums for spiritual direction
*To explore trends and share information with local, district, regional, and national Christian Educators
*To support and implement programs and projects highlighting The Christian Education Department Theme:
“The Next Level: Shaping Disciples, Spreading the Message, Sharing Resources, Strengthening Families
and Sharpening Skills”
*To equip the Body of Christ for service
*To empower the Body of Christ to make an impact for Kingdom Building
*To encourage the Body of Christ to accept their call to salvation, sanctification, and transformation
