Mrs. Laurenna Crenshaw
Lady Crenshaw is an enthusiastic woman of God who knows how to encourage and motivate people. Her passion for God is contagious and her compassion for people makes her an effective communicator. Audiences enjoy her humor and honesty as she draws from personal experience to make the Word of God come alive.
Her role of pastor’s wife, mother/grandmother and educator is fulfilled with a determination to pursue God’s purpose in all areas of her life. To her congregation, she is an outward demonstration of the Word of God as she sets a standard for faith, excellence, godly submission and character.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama reared in a warm and loving home, she attended the public schools of Jefferson County, Alabama graduating from J.H. Phillips High School in 1985.
At the tender age of nineteen, she married the Reverend George D. Crenshaw leaving the familiarity of home and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. While there she served faithfully alongside her husband in ministry.
The couple later moved to South Carolina, where she became a fulltime student graduating from the University of South Carolina.
While at the Robinson AMEZ Church, she again served each congregation specifically giving birth to the Daughters of Deborah Women’s Ministry. This ministry still thrives today as it inspires women to discover and give birth to the gift of God inside of them. She believes God has a tremendous plan for women and every woman must know God’s will and direction for their lives.
She has served as a youth secretary, presiding over 19 churches advising separate youth ministries within the local congregations for over 16 years and has now continued this ministry while in Georgia. Lady Crenshaw’s vision for youth ministry provides a place for teens to belong, become and bear witness to the goodness of the Lord.
A never ending educator, she has worked as an Adult Education Facilitator, Lambauch Tutor, Parenting Coordinator for Teens and Adults. She most recently excelled as a Middle School Educator whereby receiving numerous awards to include the 2001 Communities in Schools Teacher of the Year for the state of South Carolina.
Lady Crenshaw interests also include her church’s governmental as well as ecumenical affiliations. She has served as a General Conference Delegate AME Zion Church 1996, 2000, and 2004.
She was also honored to serve as a delegate to the World Methodist Conference 2001- Brighton England, 2006 Seoul Korea.
She is a Life Member of the NAACP, Life Member of the Connectional Lay Council AME Zion Church, Member National Ministers Wives, Widows & Spouses AME Z ion Church and Member Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
