Welcome to the Shaw Temple Church website.  Our motto “Seeing, Speaking, and Serving the Same Vision,” expresses who we are.  We are commanded by Christ to go teach and make disciples.  The transformation and spiritual growth of individuals is an outgrowth of the work we do at Shaw.  We work diligently to bring people to Christ, to demonstrate the glory of God through worship, to show the love of Christ through fellowshipping together, and to disciple those who are within the body of Christ.

Shaw Temple Women’s Month

Sept. 28th - Featured Speaker:

Sept. 28th Musical Extravaganza 3pm

All women are asked to wear white on Sunday, Sept 28th, Missions Sunday. All Life Members and Life Matrons and are asked to wear your stoles.

Nominations are being accepted for the Lay Council Marshall Jones Recognition Dinner thru Tues, Sept 30th. Make your dinner reservations as well for only $8 per person.

The Shaw Temple Business Alliance will sponsor its 4th Annual Business Expo on Sun., Oct 5th immediately after the 11am service in the Bertha Howard Bray Great Hall. Please contact Ike Washington if you want to showcase your business.

Register to Vote!!!  There will be a voter registration drive following the 11:00 a.m. worship service on Sun., Sept. 28th. Whether you need to register for the first time or update your registration, please stop by.  Please have a picture ID if you are registering for the first time.  You can't be a part of history on Nov. 4th, if you are not registered!!

Shaw Temple A.M.E. Zion Childcare Ministry is seeking Assistants for Sundays at 8am and 11am, Mon. thru Thurs. from 6:30pm – 8:30pm and some Saturdays as needed.  All interested persons should have some childcare experience, be dependable and reliable.  Flexibility is a plus.  All interested persons should contact Kenya Cochran.

Attention Parents! Childcare is provided Monday through Thursday (evenings) and during the 8am and 11am worship services.  However, upon immediate conclusion of meetings, bible study, classes and worship services, please go directly to the childcare area without delay to pickup your child/children.

Sunday School is every Sunday @ 9:30am.  Children’s Church is every Sunday @ 10:45am. Youth Services are every 2nd Sunday @ 11am.
