Mission Statement
The mission of the Shaw Temple AME Zion Information Technology Ministry is to facilitate digital communication and dissemination for all church related activities and services.
It is the responsibility of the Information Technology Ministry to provide a common toolset, templates and content delivery, systems to church support staff, members and to the general public.
Our commitment and efforts are directly linked to the mission of Shaw Temple AME Zion church. We will support the mission by delivering digital content that will help educate, motivate, and empower people to move forward with the ongoing mission of salvation given to all of us by Jesus the Christ.
Vision
Our vision is to provide solid technology solutions to support the divine mission of Shaw Temple and provide a digital link for other AME Zion organizations to communicate effectively, collaborate remotely and replicate best business practices in support of the AME Zion denomination.
Shaw Temple IT Groups and Functions
Technology review committee (TRC)
TRC consist of representatives from the church Support Staff, Trustee Board, Technology Committee. The TRB is responsible for project management, coordination of pastoral review, trustee reports and strategic planning,
The committee is heading by the minister of technology and submits a quarterly report to the pastor.
Technology Ministry Support Teams
Web Application
Team creates configure and supports web based applications that are used on public and private web sites this includes CGI applications the facilitate members ability to order sermons and music in CD format, Registration for the members website.
Web Content
Team assists other ministries with creating content for executive review and publication. The content is published with the common look and feel from master template provided by Shaw temple’s Webmaster and published to development site pending Pastoral approval.
Desk side support
Team is skilled in all common application used by the support staff and gives instructional support, education and problem solving services directly to customers. Desk side team is responsible to escalation of problems to the correct team for remedy and working with other contact teams for problem resolution.
Documentation and Technical Writing
Team collects, creates and maintains documentation, instructional information, and media for all hardware and software used by the support staff.
Training and education.
Responsible for coordination and conducting scheduled computer based training for other ministries this would include web based applications and collaborative tools.
Infrastructure support
Team has reasonability for physical connections, physical security and data closet setup and maintenance including cabling, power and HVAC issues.
Server Support
Responsible for installation configuration of Files servers. Handles patch management, Virus and spy ware software and operating system related issues.
System administration
Team responsibilities include addition, deletions and modification of accesses controls of all accounts created on network.
AV System Support
Assigned to support the Multimedia needs for the Audio Visual Ministry including streaming media and CD duplication equipment.
