Missionary Society Projects

The local church missionary society visits the sick and elderly and assists them with their needs; work on social and community projects to improve the lives of others; provides for the needy, and supports the work of local, state, and national church.  All work is done to lift up Christ and His teachings.

Specifically, we run “The Lord’s Storehouse” which provides food and clothing for less fortunate community members for free.  The storehouse is open three days a week Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  The food is provided through an account with the Atlanta Food Bank.  We appreciate and solicit donations from the local church, businesses and community members.

In addition, we visit the sick and shut-in, visit nursing homes, assist college students, and support a Women’s Shelter.  During the Thanksgiving holiday season missionaries distribute fruit baskets to the elderly and needy. During the Christmas Season, the society organizes a food and toys drive for families in need.  The card ministry sends cards to the sick, shut in, and bereaved members.  This year the missionaries worked with Habitat for Humanity to build a house.
